Taiyaki is a Japanese traditional fish-shaped waffle.

 The most popular filling is red bean paste that is made from sweetened azuki beans. Other popular fillings may be custard cream or chocolate. 

Taiyaki is baked with special waffle batter. The batter is poured into a fish-shaped mold on each side of the baker. The filling is then put on one side and the mold is closed. It is then baked on both sides to golden brown.
